How the name wheel works

A visual wheel with an independent result
A name wheel turns a conventional selector into a visual experience. It is especially useful in front of a class, during an event, on a video call or while sharing a screen.
The animation shows the process, but it does not mathematically determine who is selected. SorteosUp calculates the selection beforehand with its random engine and uses the spin as a visual representation. Browser speed, animation duration and device performance do not change the result.

You could set, for example, three winners and two alternates. The tool makes five different selections: winner 1, winner 2, winner 3, alternate 1 and alternate 2. A participant cannot appear again in the same result.
Alternates are useful when a winner does not respond, does not meet the requirements, declines the prize, was included by mistake or misses the acceptance deadline. Define in advance the order in which they will be contacted and when they replace a winner.

The name draw is designed for a quick, direct selection; the wheel adds a visual representation so you can show the process to other people. Choose random teams if you need to divide every participant into groups, pairs to match them two by two, and turn order to establish a complete sequence.
The standard mode is suitable for classes, meetings, games and informal decisions. A certified result adds the date and time, participant count, configuration, list hash, result sequence and a verifiable identifier. It provides technical evidence of the process, but does not replace legal terms or the organizer's responsibilities.
Large lists, privacy and spinning again
You can use small groups or lists containing hundreds of people. With large lists, we prioritize a clear result even when every segment cannot be read at the same time; every participant remains included in the selection. Check the counter before running a real draw.
You can edit the list, change the number of winners or begin a new selection. However, when the result has consequences, decide beforehand when it is valid and do not spin again simply because you dislike the name selected. Use fictional names for testing and load the final list only when you are ready.
