Shuffle a complete list into random order

SorteosUp’s random list shuffler changes the order of every item without losing an entry. Use it for names, tasks, questions, activities, products, words, links or any line-based text. Enter one item per line and select “Shuffle list”. The complete list comes back in a different order, with every item preserved. The basic version runs in your browser, with no installation or account, on mobile, tablet and desktop.

How do you use the list shuffler?

Paste or type your list, keep one item per line and select “Shuffle list”. Review the new order and shuffle again whenever you need another distribution. Every item remains present; only its position changes. Names, numbers, words, phrases, URLs, products, tasks, codes, questions and ideas all work.

Shuffle names, tasks and questions

Reorder students, attendees or participants, prepare an activity, vary a review sequence, mix household tasks, classroom activities, exercises, meeting topics, content ideas or challenges. Teachers and trainers can change the order of questions, flashcards and exercises. Check dependencies manually before using a shuffled list as a formal exam.

Keep or remove duplicate items

Repeated lines are part of the original list, so the default behavior should keep them. If two lines are identical, choose whether to keep duplicates or remove identical entries. Items are never removed silently. Add a surname, initial or identifier when two people share a name.

Copy and download a random list

After shuffling, copy the result into Excel, Google Sheets, a document, email or an education platform. TXT keeps one item per line and CSV is useful for spreadsheets. Optional numbering only improves readability and does not change the original content.

Does every order have the same probability?

A uniform shuffle allows every item to occupy every position. The animation does not decide the result; the random engine does. Some items may stay in the same position and a long list can, rarely, match its original order. Shuffling again creates another independent permutation.

How is this different from other tools?

The shuffler keeps the entire list. A name draw selects winners. Random turn order assigns numbered positions, while random teams distribute people into groups. Use this tool when you only need to reorder text lines.

Normal and certified results

The normal shuffle is designed for everyday tasks, classes, games and list processing. It is free within current limits, needs no account or points and runs locally. A certified result can document the date, time, hash, item count, settings, random engine, identifier and public URL. Certification proves the technical process, not external rules.
